Born to Dance on 7th October 1964, in Barking as Debbie Jane Osborne, where I grew up and went to school in Dagenham. As far as the music is concerned, it’s all in the initials!!! Music was a part of my life, my earliest memory being dancing with my Dad to Top of the Pops. Music was always being played throughout the house (i.e. Aker Bilk, Diana Ross, Barry White, Marvin Gaye). I am a trained dancer, primarily in Ballroom and Latin and I have been awarded many competition medals earlier in my life.

I joined the soul scene from being on the CB radio back in the 80s, and my handle was Misty, (the 80s Facebook equivalent I guess) at The Church Elm pub in Dagenham. As a soul girt it started at Barking football club on a Sunday night, The Cross Keys Dagenham, Stop outs and BBs in Ilford, Epping Forest Country Club, Bugatti’s, The Villa, The Retreat, The Greyhound, Charlie Chans, The Lyceum, The Hippodrome and Stringfellows. To name just a few.

Music is in my soul and should be shared hence me joining Soulbeat Radio. My ethos “if I want to dance to it I will play it”. Maybe this is my Midlife Crisis! but what better way of enjoying the music, by getting involved and giving myself a whole new interest and challenge; by learning to be a DJ and Radio Presenter on Soulbeat and sharing the sounds that I love. I love all kinds of soul and jazz funk music be it Old Skool, Motown, Jazz, House and Dance mixes, Modern and Classic. That’s why I will call my set The Dolly Mixture Show as it covers multiple genres
